lego indiana jones July 12, 2010 Mr. L. J. Burbidge Grandson loves this games to bits.Never wants to go home after playing it at our home.
No doubt an excellent game. June 8, 2010 The Brooks (Leicester, England) Lego film based games are undoubtedly the best games for kids. The split screen option and the creator levels all make this a massive step forward from the first game. You really can't go wrong.
Amazing game May 24, 2010 Becki This is a very fun game, but it does take a little while to get around. It is almost completely different to the first game, so navigating while fun can be a little annoying. However it now has a split screen, so two different characters can be in different places without being moved around by the edge of the screen. This therefore means that the game can be finished in half the time if the characters can move around very independently. Also despite redoing the first three films, there is barely if any repetition of scenes, everything is new and in better quality too. Finally for all building fanatics out there you can customise your own areas to play on, Overall alot of fun and after the initial navigation problem, your good to go.
Indiana jones and the 2nd sequel inculdes split screen, build levels. April 23, 2010 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Another Lego game, the 7+ rating is for some bosses are a bit scary. To get 100% you need to do the hanger 52 bonus level in under 5 mins. Also when you beat the levels on creator you will have that settings and then the super bonus level will be unlocked by geting 10 bonus levels in one of the chapters.
This should be a better experience in the pc version beacuse of the build your levels setting.
Hardest levels:
the Raiders of the lost ark-map room mystery
the temple of doom-malo rampage
the last cruasade-trail and terror
the kindom of the crystall skull part 1-crane train
the kindom of the crystall skull part 2-rainforest rumble
the kindom of the crystall skull part 3-aktor ambush.
Buy it, it will keep you going till lego harry potter years 1-4 comes out.
Slightly better than the original, and that's saying something! April 19, 2010 Ledreppe (Edinburgh, Scotland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was a bit dubious about getting this, as I didn't think there was much in it. I thought it would basically just be the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and a few re-hased levels of the first three adventures. How wrong I was! I played it at my brother-in-laws house and was hooked instantly. I quickly got myself a copy for the Wii, and found it to be ever so slightly better than the original, which some other reviewers have said also.
There is no Marshall college hub world like in the original. Instead there are a series of 'construction kit' lego boxes, which when clicked on open up a world of level missions. These boxes tell you what vehicles and characters you have unlocked, and how many levels you have gained true adventurer status in (collecting all the lego studs, as in the original Lego Indy game). The missions are much smaller than before, but there are a lot of them. Don't be fooled by this, there is still plenty for you to do in each level despite the change in the structure of each mission. When you enter a construction kit, you are placed in that adventure's (Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Raider's of the Lost Ark etc) hub world. Each hub world is a mission in itself, as there are tasks to be done in each hub world, like throwing dynamite against walls in a street to find red, green and blue blocks hidden inside. You can then buy the red, green and blue blocks when you have uncovered tham all from smashing trees, flowers cactai etc, but they are expensive so you'll have to complete several 'bonus' levels which involve collecting 1 milliion lego studs by smashing scenery scenery in a bonus world, which you unlock by constructing a lego kit, like a space rocket for one example, which you get the pieces for by completing the main story levels in each hub world. You are then able to buy the red, green and blue blocks with the studs you've collected. There are a lot of blocks to buy and it wont be easy either!
As you can tell from above, the mission structure is very different from the first LEGO Indy, but after playing through all the hub worlds in each lego kit box from the main game home screen, I realised the genius of Traveller's Tales Games, and decided it was better than the original's hub and missions.
A quick word of warning, this game is harder than the original, and you may find yourself looking for hints on the Internet to unlock all the characters and vehicles. On the topic of vehicles, I found some of the levels where you drive around in unlocked vehicles quite tedious, but if you get the nack of controlling the vehicles (controls are slightly different from vehicles in first lego Indy), you can quickly fget through these levels and collect a million studs.
This is an improvement over the original, which is unusual for a sequel to any game. If you enjoyed the original, then you'll have a blast with this, so buy it now! If you're an Indy fan and enjoy platform/action games and haven't played any LEGO Indy games, then I suggest you buy both now, because they are both truly great games.
In summary:
Graphics: 7/10 Standard LEGO-style graphics, but seems fuzzy and 'raw' in places, could give you a headache, so don't play too long without a break.
Sound: 8/10 All the standard Indy music from all 4 films, great orchestral soundtrack, you never get bored of it.
Gameplay: 9/10 The usual LEGO gameplay applies to this game too, control of vehicles has improved, but there is no more control of Indy's whip by swinging the Wiimote, (press 'A' button now)
Fun: 10/10 Imense fun, a sheer joy to play, all the classic LEGO puzzles suffice here, and there are lots of new and interesting lego puzzles to solve from building kits up.
Overall 10/10 An improvement over the original, new takes on the original adventures and all new Kingdom of the Crystal Skull adventure. Very entertaining, but more tricky than before.
