had a bluetooth nokia earpiece but it just could not cope battery wise. i had read some neg reviews but took the plunge anyway thinking it would be worth the risk. how glad i am that i did, i am very pleased with this headset works well with good cable length. can now play cod without worrying about low battery and loosing audio. the game is so much better online with a mic. the one i got is the same one that is in the picture and all i can say is go for it. i had a bluetooth earpiece for my xbox but this is much better. i found that with those my ear hurt after wearing them for any length of time but this headset is comfy no probs and i have a big head......

1 out of 5 stars Invest in better!   June 2, 2010

I spent a LOT of time looking for a headset for my 12 year old, trying to weigh up quality and price, after a disastrous purchase of a bluetooth set I decided upon a wired headset and as my lad is 12 and prone to be careless with things I chose this item for the price and the half decent reviews..........big mistake!

When plugged in to the PS3 and testing it, it works fine, but when using it with a voice command game. i.e TC's End War, it is atrocious, when used as communication on Modern Warfare 2, it is atrocious! for some reason the microphone goes on the blink and nobody can here you, when used on VC games it doesn't recognize the words.

Seriously people, invest in something better, spend a bit more and get a decent product that will not frustrate the hell out of you!

I know there are a tonne of great reviews for this microphone but I just wanted to stick one up pointing out a few things..

I bought this microphone back in October 09 and after only five uses it has stopped working. At first the microphone was transmitting loud static when set at certain positions, I found I was having to re-adjust the angle it was set up every-time I went to use it. Then the microphone stopped working completely, I believe it had something to do with the wiring inside the the part of the headset that could be rotated. I take excellent care of all my audio equipment and had the headset on a special hook when it wasn't in use, the wire was also rapped very loosely to prevent any breaks. Maybe I just got a dud one?

My only problem with the microphone while it was working, is that you can't adjust the length, and as such tends to sit very close to your face which can cause breathing to be transmitted, and overall feels a little uncomfortable.

Again this was a great headset... for the few times I was actually able to use it.

This is a great head set for anyone who hate using those in ear blue tooth head sets as I do. It is easy to set up and there is plenty of wire so you don't have to sit on top of your TV well worth the money

3 out of 5 stars Decent   March 26, 2010

It does what it needs to do at a decent quality. Its a little flimsy as mine broke (my own silly fault) when i dropped it but nothing a bit of cellotape cannot fix.
